I have never successfully obtained work via a job listing directory or work social network.

I don’t use Microsoft LinkedIn, because they don’t support the shape of my work. Craigslist is… problematic.
And then there seems to be more job directories than jobs offered. 
So now I’m asking folks: where do you go to offer and/or find jobs?
I’m now just looking for online sources, either! I’m based in Oakland, California, so if there is a non-digital answer to this query, please share it.
